Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - February 7th, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a residential burglary that occurred between January 31st and February 3rd in the 3400 block of Panther Creek Drive. Evidence suggests that there were multiple suspects in this burglary. We believe that entry to the residence was made by cutting the screen and then removing a window. Items stolen during this burglary include jewelry, firearm ammunition and several firearms, including two Smith and Wesson 9 mm semi-automatic handguns, a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver and a Smith and Wesson .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Police are investigating similar burglaries in the area to determine if they are related.

If you have information on this crime or saw anything suspicious in this area during this time frame, you can remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting a tip via the internet or use a cell phone to send a tip. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000.

Remember Crime Stoppers wants your information, not your name.
