Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - February 14th, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a Homicide that occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2007. At approximately 11:20 pm, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of E. Monroe. Upon arriving on scene, officers found two victims with gun shot wounds. One of the victims, Percy Clement, later died. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the shooting actually took place near the intersection of McCreery and Jackson. The victims were in a white Oldsmobile when they were approached by three black males. After a brief conversation, one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired into the vehicle. In addition to the suspects, Detectives are attempting to identify a black female, between the ages of 18-27, 5'4" to 5'6", average build, with a pony tail who may have witnessed this crime.

If you have any information on this Homicide, you can remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting a tip via the internet or use a cell phone to send a tip. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000.
