Stoppers Crime of the
Week - March 13th, 2008
 Hi,
I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on
a motor vehicle theft that occurred between January
30th at 10:00 pm and January 31st at 4:00 am. The suspect
or suspects stole a 2001 maroon Ford Escape from the
drive of a residence in the 1600 block of West Monroe.
After the theft of the vehicle, investigators believe
that the suspect caused damage to several mailboxes
in the area by intentionally striking them with the
vehicle. The suspect also stole several items from the
vehicle, including an XM satellite radio. The driver
of the stolen vehicle then crashed the vehicle in the
700 block of South Koke Mill Road and fled the scene.
The suspects of this crime face multiple charges, including
Motor Vehicle Theft, Burglary from Motor Vehicle and
Theft.
