Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - March 20th, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is attempting to identify the suspects in several cases of Aggravated Battery, Criminal Defacement of Property and Criminal Damage to Property that occurred on March 8th and March 10th. The Springfield Police Department is investigating ten reports of suspects shooting paintball guns at people and property throughout the City of Springfield. The damage to property in these incidents has been minimal. However, in at least two cases, the suspect aimed and shot a paintball gun at two senior citizens who were walking on the sidewalk. All of these acts appear to be random. The suspects were described as white males, one of them with brown hair. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark colored Pontiac, possibly a Grand Am or Grand Prix.

If you have information on this crime or know the identity of the suspects, you can remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting a tip via the internet or use a cell phone to send a tip. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000.

Remember Crime Stoppers wants your information, not your name.
