Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - April 10th, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on numerous cases of Criminal Damage and/or Thefts that have occurred throughout the Auburn, Chatham and Southwest area of Sangamon County. The suspects in this crime have damaged several mailboxes with an unknown object. They have broken into vehicles and have stolen numerous items.

The suspects used an unknown object to either shoot or break out windows on vehicles, houses and businesses. From March 1stth to the current date, over 25 cases of criminal activity have occurred in the Auburn and Chatham area. At this time, police are investigating the possibility that all of the incidents have been committed by the same group of individuals. When the suspects are caught, they could be arrested for criminal damage to property, theft and burglary.

If you know who has been committing these crimes or have information that would help solve any of these cases, you can remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting a tip via the internet or use a cell phone to send a tip. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000.

Remember Crime Stoppers wants your information, not your name.
