Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - May 1st, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Paula Morrow, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a home invasion, robbery and aggravated battery that occurred on Tuesday, April 15th at 4:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North 5th Street. The suspect approached the elderly female victim as she was entering her house. He then pushed his way into her house, ordering her to give him money. After the victim gave the suspect money, he started punching her repeatedly. Her husband came to check on her and the suspect then began to punch him in the head and the face. The suspect left the residence and was last seen running southeast, through Lincoln Park.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20's to early 30's. He was 6'0", 180 lbs. and bald. He was wearing dark clothes at the time of the attack.
