Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - December 18th, 2008

Hi, I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator for Sangamon and Menard Counties.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on several intentionally set fires that occurred on Friday November 28th and Saturday November 29th to one vacant residence in the 300 block of Livingston and to another vacant residence in the 300 block of S. Wesley. Arson investigators state that the rear of a vacant residence in the 300 block of S. Wesley was intentionally set on fire.

Approximately three hours later, firefighters then responded to another intentionally set fire one block away in the 300 block of Livingston. Investigators state it appears that an accelerant was used at both locations. Arson investigators also report similar incidents at these residences on May 4th and May 16th 2008.

If you have information about this incident or other suspicious activity, you can remain completely anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting a tip via the internet or using a cell phone to send a tip [type TIP672 plus your message and send it CRIMES(274637)]. You could get a cash reward of up to $1000.

Remember Crime Stoppers wants your information, not your name.
