Week - December 25th, 2008
Hi, I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on
a credit card fraud that occurred on October 10th 2008.
The victim states that on October 13th she noticed that
her credit card was missing and that she may have lost
it or it may have been stolen out of her purse as early
as October 10th. The victim states that once she realized
that her credit card was missing, she contacted her
credit card company and was told that several transactions
had already been made using her card. Upon further investigation
it was learned that the victim's credit card had been
used by a short heavy set black female at several retail
merchants, an auto parts store, and a service station
with a total loss of $1,175.00.
