I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on
a Criminal Damage to vehicle that occurred in the 2400
block of Lindbergh on 11-22-08 and again to another
vehicle in the same area on 12-27-08. Reports also indicate
that there was another vehicle damaged on 12-27-08 in
the 3100 block of S. Veterans. All drivers report that
while driving their vehicles in these areas, they heard
what one victim described as a gunshot and heard something
hit their vehicles. Upon further investigation, it was
found that the vehicles reported damage was due to bricks
or large rocks being thrown at the vehicles. One victim
reports that a traffic cone was placed in the roadway
to get him to slow his vehicle.
