Hi,
I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on
an Armed Robbery that occurred on December 20th, 2008
to Dollar General at 3059 S. Dirksen Parkway. Store
employees report that two black males entered the store
wearing black hooded coats and had their faces covered
to conceal their identity. One male was described as
5 feet 6 inches 150 pounds and the other was 5 feet
8 inches 150 pounds. They then told an employee to get
them the money. The employee states that she was told
to go to the front of the store, and as she was taken
back to the front of the store one of the suspects had
a handgun pointed at her the entire time. Once at the
front of the store, the employee was ordered to open
the cash register and safe. The suspect was then given
$784.00. Once the two suspects had the money they demanded
they left running north from the business down the sidewalk.
