Hi,
I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
a Theft (over $300) that occurred between Saturday February
7th 2009 and Monday February 9th to Bank of Springfield
3400 Wabash. Bank employees report that on several occasions
the alarm for the ATM was activated for unknown reasons.
When employees checked the ATM there was nothing out
of the ordinary to report. Later that day on Saturday
a customer complained that the ATM did not dispense
the money that he had tried to withdrawal. An audit
was done on the ATM by bank employees and everything
balanced out. On Monday bank employees again got the
alarm for the ATM but this time noticed the $20.00 cassette
missing totaling $11,280.00.
If you have information about this incident, you can
remain completely anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers
at 217-788-8427 [1-800-397-2288], submitting
a tip via the internet or using
a cell phone to send a tip [type TIP672 plus your
message and send it CRIMES(274637)]. You could get a
cash reward of up to $1000.
Remember Crime Stoppers wants your information,
not your name.
