I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime stoppers is seeking information on
a homicide that occurred on June 8th 2006 at 11th and
Reynolds. Officers were dispatched to 11th and Reynolds
for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived at
this location, Freddy Williams was being treated by
paramedics for two stab wounds. Information given at
the time of this incident states that an unidentified
black male jumped from the bushes and stabbed Freddy
Williams. It is unknown what the suspect was wearing
or in what direction the suspect may have left, and
there was no further description given. Freddy Williams
was then transported to the hospital where he later
died as a result of his injuries.
