I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
an Armed Robbery that occurred on Thursday May 7th to
Dollar General 500 E. St. Joseph. Store employees state
that a black male wearing a faded orange hooded sweat
shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a black face mask
came into the store and demanded money from the cash
register. Store employees also state that the unknown
black male was carrying a silver and gray handgun. The
suspect then ordered a store employee to put the $393.00
from the cash register into a bag. The suspect then
ordered one employee to the ground as he was escorted
by other employees to the exit door at the back of the
store and left east bound.
