I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
numerous Burglaries to Motor Vehicles and Criminal Damage
to Property that have occurred throughout the month
of July at several different locations in the City of
Springfield. Victims report that their car windows are
being broken to gain access to property that is left
in plain view on the dash or seat. Items reported taken
were GPS systems, laptop computers, Sirius xm satellite
radios, car stereos and speakers. It appears that suspects
are only targeting the items that are in plain view.
There have been no witnesses to any of these incidents
as there has been no information given about a possible
suspect.
