I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
a Criminal Defacement of Property that occurred on Tuesday
September 1st at 1441 Monument Lincolns Tomb. Supervisor
of Lincolns Tomb states that someone purposely poured
what appears to be an oil based paint on the sidewalk
around the perimeter of Lincolns Tomb. The supervisor
also states that whoever did the damage poured the paint
in a wavy pattern. A tour guide states that he saw two
white males start to enter the tomb but when they saw
him they exited. He believes that they may have had
something to do with the defacement. They were described
as two white males in their 30's one had long brown
hair and a mustache the other was clean shaven.
