I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
a Theft Under that occurred on Wednesday August 19th
2009 on A Springfield Mass Transit Bus. The victim states
that she did not realize that she had left her purse
on the bus as she was carrying several other items.
Another passenger saw the purse unattended and gave
the purse to the bus driver. A heavy set black female
and black male then got on the same bus at 14th and
Washington. Once the bus arrived downtown at 5th and
Capital, the female made small talk with the bus driver
as she put her bag on top of the purse. When she was
done talking the female grabbed her bag along with the
purse and went to the back of the bus and exits through
the side door.
