I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
a Commercial Burglary that occurred on Wednesday May
27th to Kmart located at 3250 Clearlake. Store employees
report that when they arrived at work they noticed that
the jewelry display case was not working properly. An
employee then notified a manager who determined upon
further investigation that the store was missing $191,000
worth of jewelry. Store employees report that several
locks on the display case were also damaged. There were
no other items reported missing and no suspect information
was given. And on 11-29-09 the store was once again
burglarized and the merchandise taken again was jewelry.
