for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
an Arson that occurred on Monday December 28th 2009
at 400 E. Jefferson. It was reported that a fire in
the basement of the St. Nicholas apartments had been
started in a trash can. When the fire department arrived
on scene they noticed curtains on fire inside the trash
can. After a preliminary investigation it was determined
that the fire seemed suspicious. After contacting the
building manger officers on scene were told that there
have been several problems in the past with similar
fires occurring. There were no witnesses to this incident
and there were no injuries to report.
