I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about
a Theft Under that occurred on Sunday February 7th 2010.
The victim states that her purse was stolen while she
was attending a baby shower at a church located in the
700 block of E Capital. The victim later found out that
someone was using her debt card and checks that were
inside her purse when it was stolen. An unknown suspect
wrote several checks throughout Springfield, Rochester,
Taylorville and possibly Decatur totaling over $388.
The victim's debt card was also used to make purchases
totaling over $230. Investigators are still seeking
the identity of anyone that may have been involved with
this theft.
