I'm Officer Butch Slater, Crime Stoppers' Coordinator
for Sangamon and Menard Counties.
This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a homicide that occurred on Thursday October 15th 2009 in the 500 block of W. Canedy. Officers were dispatched to this area to check on the welfare of Eric Huckaby after he failed to answer his phone when a friend tried to call him several times. When officers arrived on scene they saw evidence that would lead them to believe that a crime had been committed. Once inside the residence officers saw that Eric Huckaby appeared to be deceased. Witnesses state that they saw a white Chevrolet Caprice or Ford Crown Victoria being driven by a black male with braded hair leaving the area.
