Crime Stoppers President - Jack Stoldt 2002-2003

Jack Stoldt, 2003 President of CrimeStoppers of Sangamon and Mendard Counties.

Jack joined the Crime Stoppers Board in 1994 and has been a long-time supporter of the organization. Jack and his wife Shirley, married for 43 years, are proud parents of two daughters, Debra and Caroline. They are proud grandparents of a granddaughter, Claire. The Stoldts have resided in Petersburg since 1991.

After graduation from Eastern Illinois University, Jack served in the army, after which he joined the Ralston Purina Company. During his 10 years with Purina, he held management positions in plants in Decatur, IL, Circleville, OH, Richmond, VA, Spokane, WA, Stanwood, WI, and Montgomery County, Mo. He left Purina in 1969 to become an independent businessman. Jack has owned Jack Stoldt Auto Service Center Inc in downtown Springfield since 1974. In 1982, he opened a Ford Mercury dealership and in 1994 a Chevrolet Pontiac Buick and Oldsmobile dealership in Petersburg.

Since selling the dealerships in 1998, he and Shirley have continued to travel. Recent trips have included China, Thailand, short trips in the U.S., and they have just returned from a 5-½ week 11,000-mile drive to Alaska. Future travel plans include Africa and South America. Community activities in addition to Crime Stoppers include the Menard County Economic Development Commission, the Petersburg Kiwanis Club, and the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation Board.

When asked what he liked about Crime Stoppers, Jack stated that the he considered Crime Stoppers to be a good, very effective, and strong organization with impressive proven results in both solving and preventing crimes.
