Crime
Stoppers President - Jack Weatherford 2000-2001
Meet
Jack Weatherford, 2000/2001 President of CrimeStoppers
of Sangamon and Mendard Counties.
Jack was born and raised in Springfield and graduated
from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, with a Bachelor
of Science degree in business and accounting. From 1967
- 1969 he served in the Naval Reserve and began his
accounting career working for Meyer & Van Meter
CPA's. Presently, he is a loan analyst with the Business
Finance Division of the Illinois Department of Commerce
and Community Affairs.
Over the years, while his children were growing up
he was involved in various sports activities, including
Khoury League and Springfield Youth Hockey. Over the
last decade he has volunteered in various capacities
for the LPGA State Farm Classic. In 2000, he served
on the anniversary committee for the planning of the
25th Anniversary Celebration. Presently, he is in charge
of the dinner for the volunteers during the golf tournament.
Since joining the CrimeStopper program in 1998, Jack
has served as Vice President in 1999-2000, and currently
serves as President. Jack states that being on the board
has been a very rewarding experience, knowing that when
you see through the TV, radio, newspaper, or this website
that a CrimeStoppers tip lead to an arrest of a fugitive,
that you were indirectly involved by being a part of
the program.
