The suspect, who appeared to be a male wearing dark clothing, broke a window on the victim’s vehicle causing nearly $500 in damage. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted armed robbery that occurred on December 10th around 7:00 p.m. at Dollar General located at 1057 E Ash. The suspect, who appeared to be a male, entered the store and approached an employee behind the register brandishing a firearm. The suspect then grabbed the employee by their arm and threatened them. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an attempted motor vehicle theft and criminal damage that occurred in the 1000 block of S 2nd St during the night time hours between January 3rd and 4th. A vehicle window had been broken out causing $500 in damage and the steering column had been removed causing an additional $1,000 in damage. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a theft that occurred at the La Quinta Inn located at 1121 Lejune on December 18th around 6:30p.m. The victim had lost over $10,000 out of their pocket they were going to give their employees as a Christmas bonus. Video footage shows the suspect, who appears to be a female with dark hair, bend down and pick up what appears to be the sum of cash. It is unknown which direction the suspect went after.
