Stoppers President - Rick Allen 2005-2006
Rick Allen, 2005 President of CrimeStoppers of Sangamon
and Menard Counties.
I have been a life time resident in Petersburg, IL
in Menard County. A graduate of Porta High School and
Lincoln Land Community College with an Associates Degree
in Applied Science. After spending my early adult life
in the agricultural field I made a career change and
began a career as an Insurance Producer. Currently I
am a co-owner in the Gillmore-Allen Insurance Agency
located in Petersburg. I am married with three children
who keep my life very active, but also keep me feeling
young.
I have been an active board member of Crime Stoppers
since 1999. I first became aware of the program via
my younger brother who served on the board prior to
my time. I have been active in many of the fundraising
events since starting on the board. I enjoy being a
small part of these fundraisers. These events can be
time consuming but are also rewarding when we see the
support from the people of these two communities. The
last two years I have served as the Vice President and
now President.
I remember some of my first board meetings sitting
there wondering exactly how does this program work and
where do I fit. I have found that you can receive as
much from this program as you give. I have been surrounded
by people on this board who have given of their time
again and again for the premier Crime Stopper program
in the state. The people involved with this organization
have helped me grow as an individual. I hope that my
small contribution to Crime Stoppers has been as beneficial
to the communities of Sangamon & Menard Counties.
