I
was born, raised, and am currently living in Springfield,
Illinois. I attended Harvard Park Grade School, Jefferson
Middle School, Lanphier High School, and graduated in1975
from Tri-City Buffalo in Buffalo, Illinois. Before I
was hired by the Springfield Police Department in 1987,
I was a part-time student at Lincoln Land Community
College.I am married and have three daughters (all grown).
After
working on the street for eight years, mostly on the
east side of Springfield, I applied for a position in
the Canine Division. After spending eight years in the
Canine Section with my partner, Snoopy, I decided to
look for another position within the Springfield Police
Department where I could use my past street and canine
experience. Crime Stoppers seemed like an opportunity
for growth and new challenges.
My
hobbies include camping, hunting, and fishing. I also
love spending time with my pets, Snoopy, a Dutch Malinois,
and Sasha, a Belgian Malinois. My zoo also includes
three birds, Sonny, a Blue and Gold Macaw, Jake, a blue
Front Amazon Parrot, and Lacy, a Congo African Gray
Parrot.
Over
the air waves, I am also known as Ham Radio call sign
K9SPD.
