Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties welcomed Officer
Sarah L. Iaiennaro as their new Coordinator, effective
May, 2004. Officer Iaiennaro has a varied and impressive
background. She served as Personnel Administrator with
the U. S. Army National Guard from 1983 - 85 and as
an explosive ordinance specialist with the U. S. Army
from 1985 - 87.
She has an Associate Degree in science (with honors)
from Lincoln Land Community College and is a graduate
of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history (with honors) and
a minor in sociology.
Officer Iaiennaro is an Illinois-certified secondary
educator with endorsement in general science and is
an Illinois certified elementary educator. She was a
substitute teacher in Springfield School District #186
from 1996 - 97. She held a grant teaching position at
Webster Academy, Springfield School District #186 from
1997 - 1998. In 1998 she became a Patrol Officer with
the Springfield Police Department and served as school
resource officer at Franklin Middle School for one year.
Officer Iaiennaro is a member of Sangamon County Crisis
Intervention Team, Sangamon County School Crisis Assistance
Team and the National Organization for Victim Assistance.
Crime Stoppers was most fortunate to have had Officer
Iaiennaro as its Coordinator.
