This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sherrif’s Office to identify an individual in reference to a burglary and criminal damage. On February 21st, 2026, at approximately 1:30am a black male, with a beard, wearing a stocking cap forced entry into 217 Comics and Games, 1820 Stevenson Dr. in Springfield. Video shows the male suspect throwing a concrete block through the glass door to gain entry to the business. Once inside the business the suspect attempted to steal the cash register before fleeing east towards Stanton Ave. Images of the individual can be found on this website, cashfortips.us.
