This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Illinois State Police in reference to homicide investigation.  On March 13th, 2024, around 1200 pm police were called to the southbound on ramp to I-55 at Stevenson Drive in reference to a body being found.  Investigators were able to identify the body as Teresa Coleman from Springfield who had been reported missing on March 4th.  Her death is being ruled as a homicide.  Anyone with information regarding Teresa’s death that leads to an arrest will receive a cash reward up to $5000.  An image of her can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred in the 1200 block of W Monroe St in Springfield, IL on August 2nd, 2022 around 1:40 a.m. A subject that appeared to be a black male wearing a gray shirt and light colored shorts and shoes made entry into the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect proceeded to take a backpack, 2 computers and a mobile hotspot before leaving eastbound on foot. The items were worth approximately $1,170. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an armed robbery that occurred at County Market located at 1501 S Dirksen Pkwy in Springfield, IL on July 19th, 2022 around 10:45p.m. After being followed by an older model black vehicle driven by a black female, the victim pulled into County Market. A black male, approximately 25-30 years old, exited the black vehicle, walked up to the victim’s vehicle, and pointed a pistol at the victim's head demanding everything they had. The victim gave the suspect approximately $3 and drove away from the scene. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary and theft that occurred at Haymakers located at 1700 W Jefferson in Springfield, IL on July 18th, 2022 around 10:20p.m. The suspects were a male appearing to be in his 40s and a female that appeared to be in her 40s. The male made entry into a shed on the property and proceeded to get on a zero turn mower worth approximately $6000 and rode away eastbound on Jefferson. The female left the same direction pushing both their bicycles. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary that occurred at Hardee’s located at 1700 W Wabash in Springfield, IL on July 11th, 2022. When an employee arrived to work, they noticed the drive thru window open and cash registers moved around inside the business. The unknown suspect(s) appeared to have made entry to the business through the drive thru window causing approximately $700 in damage. Once inside the business the suspect(s) took a cash register and $75. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred in the 100 block of South Chatham road in Springfield, IL on June 22, 2022 around 12:55 p.m. Two victims had windows on their vehicles busted out causing more than $1000 in damage and multiple items were taken including credit cards, a purse, a laptop bag and identifying information. The suspects later used one of the victim’s credit cards to make purchases at multiple businesses. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a criminal trespass to residence that occurred in the 2300 block of Ramsey in Springfield, IL on June 26th, 2022 around 4:54 a.m. The suspect appeared to be a male that was in his late teens or early 20s and was wearing a hoodie and a face mask. The suspect disarmed the lock on a side door of the residence, made entry and spent several minutes inside the residence which was occupied by the victim before leaving on foot. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department referencing a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred on June 11th, 2022 at Knights Action Park located at 1700 Knights Recreation Dr. The victim found a broken window on their vehicle and an assortment of items including a purse, credit cards and identifying information were missing. The victim was also receiving messages that their credit cards were being used in multiple places including Hy-Vee where Officers were able to obtain photos and video. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a Criminal Damage and Theft that took place at Town & Country Bank located at 1925 S. The two females entered the store and selected approximately 35 fragrances, put them in their shopping bags, and left the store without paying for them. The two females then left the area in a black Nissan Altima with a License Plate of “DJ734214”.
