This week Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference counterfeit money. On September 10th Officers responded to Nancy’s Pizza, 2301 W Monroe, in reference to an individual using a fake $50 bill.  The suspect was described as a black male wearing a grey shirt, black pants and a dew rag.  The suspect placed an order and used counterfeit money to pay.  It was discovered at that time by officers that the suspect had done the exact same thing to 3 other business in that location within the same time frame. Crime Stoppers 2022 Golf Outing

This week Crime Stoppers wants to make you aware of an upcoming event!  Crime Stoppers will be hosting their golf outing on Friday, October 7th 2022 at Piper Glen golf course. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. with registration and lunch followed by a 12:00 shotgun start to the outing. There are multiple sponsorship opportunities as well. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a theft and burglary to motor vehicle that occurred on September 7th, 2022 at Ahh Yoga located at 2201 W White Oaks Dr. in Springfield, IL. The victims had multiple items stolen from their vehicle including cash, banking cards and an assortment of other items. The suspects used the stolen bank cards shortly after at Walmart in Springfield completing multiple purchases totaling over $1000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a criminal damage that occurred during the overnight hours between September 1st and September 2nd 2022 at Benedictine University located at 1500 N 5th St in Springfield, IL. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred at the Rt. 66 Drive In located at 1578 Knights Recreation Dr. in Springfield, IL on August 6th, 2022 between 11:00a.m and 12:15p.m. The victim found their vehicle with a broken window and a purse missing which contained credit cards and an assortment of other items. The credit cards were used immediately after at a Walmart and Dollar General. The detective bureau was able to identify 3 possible suspects and their vehicle. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reference a burglary to motor vehicle and misuse of a credit card that occurred on August 12th, 2022 around 2:15 P.M. at Long Bridge Golf Course located at 1055 W Camp Sangamo Rd. The suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s vehicle and took cash, a purse and credit cards. The suspects, who appeared to be a white male and white female, then took the victim’s credit cards to Sam’s Club and completed at least 9 transactions totaling over $9,000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Illinois State Police with a cold case Homicide Investigation that occurred On October 15th, 2015 where Olen Randall was found deceased at a residence located at 303 W. Adams Street in Petersburg, Illinois.  Olen Randall’s death has been ruled a homicide and the cause of death was due to blunt force trauma. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred in the 1200 block of W Monroe St in Springfield, IL on August 2nd, 2022 around 1:40 a.m. A subject that appeared to be a black male wearing a gray shirt and light colored shorts and shoes made entry into the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect proceeded to take a backpack, 2 computers and a mobile hotspot before leaving eastbound on foot. The items were worth approximately $1,170. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an armed robbery that occurred at County Market located at 1501 S Dirksen Pkwy in Springfield, IL on July 19th, 2022 around 10:45p.m. After being followed by an older model black vehicle driven by a black female, the victim pulled into County Market. A black male, approximately 25-30 years old, exited the black vehicle, walked up to the victim’s vehicle, and pointed a pistol at the victim's head demanding everything they had. The victim gave the suspect approximately $3 and drove away from the scene. The male made entry into a shed on the property and proceeded to get on a zero turn mower worth approximately $6000 and rode away eastbound on Jefferson. The female left the same direction pushing both their bicycles. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary that occurred at Hardee’s located at 1700 W Wabash in Springfield, IL on July 11th, 2022. When an employee arrived to work, they noticed the drive thru window open and cash registers moved around inside the business. The unknown suspect(s) appeared to have made entry to the business through the drive thru window causing approximately $700 in damage. Once inside the business the suspect(s) took a cash register and $75.
