At least 15 mailboxes were vandalized at homes west of Veterans Parkway the past three days, police said.
Among the areas hit were houses near Old Jacksonville Road, Bunker Hill Road and Farmingdale Road, according to the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office handled at least 15 reports of vandalism to mailboxes the past three days. Springfield police reportedly received at least several reports as well, but exact figures weren’t immediately available.
Teens, recently out of school for the summer, are likely responsible for the damage, the sheriff’s office said.
