This week, Crime Stoppers is highlighting our campaign to combat the fentanyl crisis by offering a minimum reward of $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of anyone dealing fentanyl.  According to the IDPH, overdose deaths have trended upward since 2013. However, Illinois saw an 8.3% decline in overall drug overdose deaths in 2023, with synthetic opioid fatalities decreasing by 9.5%.  In Sangamon County, overdose deaths declined for the first time in seven years. Last year, there were 80 accidental overdose deaths, compared to 90 the previous year.
