This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference multiple thefts involving catalytic converters. The Springfield Police Department took a report from the 600 block of N 6th St. for 7 catalytic converters stolen, a report from the 2500 block of Prairie Crossing Dr. for 3 catalytic converters stolen and an additional report from the 2900 block of Rochester Road for 1 catalytic converter stolen. In total, these thefts were worth approximately $28,000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a home invasion that occurred in the 1800 block of S 7th St in Springfield, IL on November 12th, 2022 around 7:39 p.m. Two male subjects made entry into the residence and held the occupants of the home at gun point. The suspects proceeded to take an array of items including firearms, $3800 in currency, shoes, clothes, electronics, identifying documents and other valuable items before leaving the residence. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an aggravated battery that occurred at Pet Smart located at 3183 S Veterans Pkwy in Springfield, IL on November 1st, 2022 around 5:48 p.m. The suspect appeared to be a female, approximately 5’6 and 150lbs wearing dark clothing and a red head covering. The suspect was upset with how an employee was holding the leash on an animal which ultimately led to a dispute that would turn physical as the suspect slapped the employee victim with an open hand. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an aggravated battery that occurred at Circle K located at 2461 W Monroe St. in Springfield, IL. The victim, a subject who was over the age of 60 and walked with a cane because of an injury, was battered by a subject described as a male in his 30s with a beard, wearing a black jacket, yellow hat, jeans and sunglasses. The suspect was possibly driving a white 4 door vehicle. Due to the victim’s age and health status, the battery is aggravated. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a hit and run that occurred in the 2800 Block of E Clearlake Ave. in Springfield, IL on October 20th, 2022 around 6:32 A.M. The victim was walking southbound crossing Clearlake Ave when they were struck by a dark color SUV that was traveling eastbound. After striking the pedestrian, the SUV fled the area continuing eastbound on Clearlake. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for multiple injuries including broken bones.
