Criminal Damage and Battery

Scammers

This week, Crime Stoppers wants to help protect you from scammers. Every day, scammers are working to steal your money, identity, and personal information.

They often create a strong sense of urgency, so it’s important to slow down and ask if it makes sense. They may tell you a loved one is in danger, claim you owe money to the government, or promise prizes, that sound too good to be true.

They will even tell you to lie or keep it a secret from others. Law enforcement is now warning about scams using fake texts, emails, and even AI-generated images or videos designed to make their stories look real.

For more helpful information about scams visit our website cashfortips.us.  Remember if you have any information about any crime, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8324.  If your tip results in an arrest you could receive a cash reward up to $2,500.  Remember Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.
