This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department with the theft of an enclosed trailer.  Between 7pm on Thursday, April 8th and 8am on Friday, April 9th, an all-black, 29 foot long V-nose, NEO brand enclosed trailer with chrome wheels and Iowa registration was stolen from 751 North Oak Road in Rochester, IL.  The suspect is believed to have left north bound on Oak Road after the theft. If you have information about this theft, or any other crime, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427, submit a tip on this website, Cashfortips.US or use the P3 app on any mobile device.  All 3 ways are completely anonymous and if an arrest is made based on your tip, you could receive a cash reward up to 2500 dollars. Remember Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.

In an ongoing effort to help stop the gun violence in our communities, Crime Stoppers pledges a minimum reward of $500 for anonymous information that leads to the arrest of a subject illegally possessing a handgun and a minimum of $1000 for the arrest of a subject illegally possessing a rifle or weapon that fires rifle ammunition.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a shooting incident that took place on Monday, March 8th at 2:30pm at the intersection of 11th and Stanford in Springfield.  Witnesses report seeing a dark blue Saturn with silver hood and front fender fire several shots at a red vehicle at the intersection before fleeing west bound on Stanford at a high rate of speed.  The victim vehicle was struck several times by gunfire but there were no injuries.  Photos of the suspect vehicle can be viewed on this website, Cashfortips.US.  If you have information about this shooting incident or any other crime call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 788-8427, submit a tip on our website or use the P3 app on any mobile device.  If an arrest is made based on your tip you...

Join Crime Stoppers for their 3rd Annual Rythm & Brews event on Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Hand of Fate Brewing Company in downtown Petersburg, IL. Doors open for food and drink at 5:00 with music by the Whirled Peas beginning at 6:30pm.

Tickets for guests are $15.00 or $25.00 for a couple and includes entry into the event plus 1 complimentary brew, food and a souvenir koozie or drink coaster. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.

Craft beer aficionados will enjoy award winning brews, savory bites and hearty eats from Dr. Ugs and live music by the Whirled Peas. Seeking information relating to knife altercation resulting in non-life threatening stabbing of three women

Three women were taken to Springfield hospitals with non-life threatening stab wounds early Sunday following a disturbance at a house party on the 2800 block of South 13th Street, the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office said.

No information was available on what prompted the the disturbance, which was reported about 4:50 a.m. The three victims were in a disturbance with another group of people, and at least one of the women in the other group had a knife and allegedly stabbed the three women, the sheriff’s office said.

Springfield Police Seek Help in Locating Suspects in Criminal Cases

Local authorities are asking for help in finding people wanted for many criminal offenses. If you can identify any of the people whose images were captured on surveillance cameras and posted on the Springfield Police Department website , spd.springfield.il.us , take note of the case number which corresponds to the picture and call Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427 to leave a tip.

If you can identify any of the suspects you can also submit a tip on the Crime Stopper website cashfortips.us or via a text message by typing TIP672 plus the tip information you have and send it to CRIMES. Do not identify yourself when leaving a tip, an anonymous tip number will be provided to you. All tips remain anonymous and are eligible for cash rewards of up to $2,500 if the information is not already known by police and it leads to an arrest. Homicide cases can lead to cash rewards up to $5,000.

Seeking information on Washington Park vandals

The Springfield Park District has been seeing a rash of vandalism at Washington Park over the past few weeks.

Derek Harms, executive director of the park district, said Tuesday that someone damaged the bathroom near the pavilion and broke into the tennis pro shop, though nothing was taken.

Construction equipment also has been broken into, and graffiti was spray-painted near the entrance to the park.

New Domino's on South Fifth Street robbed

A man carrying a handgun and wearing a ski mask robbed the recently opened Domino's restaurant on South Fifth Street early Wednesday morning, police said.

Springfield police responded to Domino's at 2662 S. Fifth at 12:15 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

A store employee reported a man armed with a handgun entered the store through the back door and forced him to open the store safe.

After removing an unknown amount of cash from the safe, the robber fled in an unknown direction. No one was injured, police said.

The robber was described as a black man approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, wearing all black clothing and a ski mask.
