Holiday Shopping Tips

The holidays are here, and unfortunately, so is an increase in property crimes. Crime Stoppers wants to help you protect your gifts, your home, and your peace of mind with some quick tips.

1) If you are ordering gifts online, be sure to track your packages, have them shipped to an alternate address or utilize a package lockbox.

2) While you are out shopping, keep valuables out of sight and secure them in the trunk of your car.  When you arrive home make sure to remove all valuable items from your vehicle and secure them inside.

3) If you are traveling for the holidays, contact your local police department to ask about a vacation check on your home.  While you are away don’t let mail pile up, place a hold on your mail until you return.

As always if you have any information regarding any crime, give Crime Stoppers a call, where you will always remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers wishes you a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
