This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a shooting that occurred at The Cove, 1616 N Dirksen Parkway.  On Monday May 6^th around 1:20 am a black four door vehicle pulled into the east lot of the bar.  Two white males exited the vehicle and were denied entry to the bar.  The white males got back into the vehicle and left.  Once on Keys Ave. at least one occupant exits the vehicle and fires multiple rounds in the direction of the bar striking a bouncer, a parked vehicle and the building.  Images of the suspects and the vehicle can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a retail theft.  On March 30th, 2024, officers were dispatched to Discount Tobacco, 1169 N 2nd St, in reference to a retail theft. The suspect, who was a black male wearing black sweatpants and an olive colored hooded shirt entered the store and asked an employee to see an item for sale.  When the employee turned around, he jumped over the counter grabbing cartons of cigarettes and fled the area.
