Commercial Burglary and Theft

This week Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify the suspect in a Commercial Burglary and Theft that took place between 10:30pm on November, 21st and 0830am on November 22nd at “The Barber Shop”, located at 2700 W. Lawrence in Springfield.  A brick was used to break a window and gain entry to the business.  The unknown suspect fled with charitable donations that were going to be used to purchase Christmas gifts for children during this holiday season.  If you have any information about this Burglary and Theft, call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427. Armed Robbery to Business

Armed Robbery to Business
  This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information about an Armed Robbery at “The Cash Store”, located at 2512 N. Dirksen Parkway, that took place on Tuesday, November 19th at 11:28am.  A black male suspect armed with a silver handgun took a large amount of money from the business and fled in an unknown direction.  The suspect was described as being in his 20’s, light skinned, tall and thin wearing black shoes, black pants with a white stripe down the side, black hooded sweatshirt,  bright yellow reflective vest, glasses and a blue doctor’s mask.  A photo of the suspect can be viewed on this website. If you have information about this Armed Robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 788-8427, submit a tip on this website, Cashfortips.US...

Tips lead to Arrest

After tips recieved by Crime Stoppers, a Springfield man was arrested tuesday on alleged robbery of the Chase Bank at 210 North Grand Ave. W. last week. Randall A. Welch, 35, of Stone Valley Drive was located by police at his home, said Springfield Deputy Police Chief Cliff Buscher. Welch allegedly walked into the Chase Bank wearing a camouflage jacket and jeans Wednesday and handed a note to a teller that said he had a bomb strapped to his body. The teller gave him about $2,000 and the robber left the building. During the investigation, police released pictures from video surveillance cameras. “We got calls from people who recognized the suspect and recognized his clothes,” Buscher said. There is no evidence that Welch actually had a bomb, Buscher added.
