This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to help the Springfield Police Department to identify two individuals in reference to a stolen vehicle. 

On July 25th, 2026, officers were called to an area around the lake in reference to a vehicle being stolen.  It was reported that sometime in the early morning hours a 2020 Black Audi had been stolen.   Officers were able to recover the vehicle; however the investigation has led to two subjects needing to be identified that were possibly involved.

This week, Crime Stoppers and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in the disappearance of 22-year-old Brenda Bottoms.   In June of 1987, Brenda was reported missing.  She was last seen getting into a brown car that was driven by a white male on North 5th Street in Auburn, Illinois. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) -Springfield police are still hoping for a break in the unsolved murder of a 23-year-old man.
