Criminal Damage

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Petersburg Police Department in reference to criminal damage that occurred in the 200 block of Sheridan in Petersburg.  Sometime between 5pm and 5:30 pm on November 4th, 2025, officers responded to the area for a report of an excavator hitting a house. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the excavator that was being used to demolish another property, was broken into and used to hit the front of an adjacent house. If photos become available, they will be posted on this website, cashfortips.us.  If you can identify a suspect, suspects or have any other information, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on this website, or use the P3 mobile app. If your tip results in an arrest you could receive a cash reward up to $2,500.  Remember Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.

This week Crime Stoppers is partnering with Sangamon County Animal Control to talk about animal abuse.  Every year, right here in our community, countless animals suffer from neglect, abandonment, or intentional cruelty. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) -Springfield police are still hoping for a break in the unsolved murder of a 23-year-old man.

Sterling Raye Washington was shot in a home invasion on January 25th, 2018, inside a home in the 1900 Block of East Edwards St.
