This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect reference to a theft.  On May 7th, 2024, around 8:30 pm the victim arrived at Lucky Lady Laundry, 1056 E Stanford, and parked near the front door of the business.  The victim began making several trips taking laundry into the business.   While inside, the suspect approaches the victim’s vehicle, opens a door and takes a Michael Kors purse from inside the vehicle.  Inside the purse was a Michael Kors wallet, bank cards and an I-Phone all totaling more than $1300.00.   The suspect was described as a black male wearing a hooded black sweat shirt and black jogger style sweat pants.  Images of the suspect can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information about a robbery which occurred in the parking lot of Mr. Gyro’s restaurant which is located on Martin Luther King Drive in Springfield. After a couple had made their order inside the restaurant at approximately 8 pm on July 9, the male victim returned to his car to wait for his food. As he approached his vehicle, however, he was attacked by three black males who were in their early 20’s. Two of the suspects were wearing white t-shirts and the third had a blue t-shirt on. All three suspects were slightly injured as the victim defended himself.

Crime Stoppers is looking for information which might help in the investigation of two separate thefts of heavy equipment in the area. The first theft was of a red Kubota tractor which was on a trailer at a storage area on Route 4 in Chatham late on June 8th. The second theft, about a week later, was of a Toro Dingo excavator stolen from Buckley’s Landscaping on Chatham Road late at night on June 16th. Each of these stolen pieces of equipment is valued at approximately $20,000. We’ve posted photos of the stolen Kubota on our website. Police in Springfield are looking for information about an incident in which a person was attacked in the 3100 block of Normandy Road during the daytime hours of Wednesday June 15th. Witnesses reported seeing the victim walking in the roadway when he was approached by two black male subjects, one of whom punched the victim in the face knocking him unconscious. The second subject then brutally kicked the victim as he lay motionless on the ground. Fortunately, the victim made a complete recovery from the senseless attack.

Crime Stoppers has surveillance photos in which images of the suspects can be seen. If you are able to assist with information and it leads to the arrest of the persons responsible for this aggravated Battery, Crime Stoppers will pay you a cash reward.

Local police officers take reports every week from victims who have been swindled by persons posing as bank officers, officials from the IRS, persons who offer to help correct computer problems, or one of the many other scams in the world today. Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving an Armed Robbery to the Circle K service station at 2641 W Monroe in Springfield shortly after midnight on June 6th. The clerk at the station was approached by a black male brandishing a knife who pushed him to the ground and demanded the contents of the cash drawer. The suspect was wearing a black heavy coat and winter hat, grey sweat pants, and a light scarf.

Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving a series of thefts from cash registers at retail businesses in the Springfield area which have taken place while the businesses are open during normal business hours. It’s uncertain how these thieves are accessing the cash registers however Crime Stoppers has obtained surveillance photos of the suspects committing the crimes. In the most recent incident on May 28th, over $3500 was stolen. Look at our website and see if you can identify the thieves -police have felony charges awaiting them.

Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving a robbery to a pizza delivery person which occurred at the 1800 block of South 8th Street on Friday May 20th at about 11 o’clock in the evening.

As the victim approached a residence with the pizza’s, she was punched in the face by a 6 foot tall black male with a bald head who was wearing a blue hoodie. After she fell to the ground, three other males approached the victim and struck her and kicked her several times before running away on foot.

Crime Stoppers wants to pay anyone who knows who committed this robbery a cash reward for the identification and arrest of the persons responsible for this cowardly crime, and we’re going to pay a lot more than the few bucks these two bit thieves got in the robbery.

Crime Stoppers is looking for help from the community in solving a series of burglaries to motor vehicles which occurred in the Sherman area during the early morning hours of May 10th. These vehicle break-ins are similar to other occurrences in and around the Springfield area in which unlocked parked vehicles were burglarized and various items were stolen.

Earlier this week at approximately 11 pm on Sunday May 8th, a group of 6 persons burglarized the Family Dollar store at 921 W Jefferson in Springfield. The group broke a glass entry door to the closed business to gain entry and quickly ransacked the business, stealing assorted items before exiting and leaving the area on foot in a northbound direction. This brazen group of individuals needs to be identified and prosecuted and we need your help.

Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the public to help solve an early morning robbery on April 30^th to a person at the 200 block of South Durkin Drive in Springfield. The victim reported he was walking his dog, before dawn, when he was confronted by a black male subject 25-30 years of age who stood approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 225 pounds. After the suspect confronted the victim, an altercation occurred between the two and the victim received a non life threatening stab wound to the shoulder. A brown leather wallet was stolen in the robbery.
