This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a retail theft.  On March 30th, 2024, officers were dispatched to Discount Tobacco, 1169 N 2nd St, in reference to a retail theft. The suspect, who was a black male wearing black sweatpants and an olive colored hooded shirt entered the store and asked an employee to see an item for sale.  When the employee turned around, he jumped over the counter grabbing cartons of cigarettes and fled the area. Images of him can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. Seeking information on aggravated battery

Police in Springfield are looking for information about an incident in which a person was attacked in the 3100 block of Normandy Road during the daytime hours of Wednesday June 15th. Witnesses reported seeing the victim walking in the roadway when he was approached by two black male subjects, one of whom punched the victim in the face knocking him unconscious. The second subject then brutally kicked the victim as he lay motionless on the ground. Fortunately, the victim made a complete recovery from the senseless attack.

Crime Stoppers has surveillance photos in which images of the suspects can be seen. If you are able to assist with information and it leads to the arrest of the persons responsible for this aggravated Battery, Crime Stoppers will pay you a cash reward.

Crime Stoppers wants to remind you that you should never give personal information to persons who contact you by telephone or on the internet no matter how believable they seem to be. Local police officers take reports every week from victims who have been swindled by persons posing as bank officers, officials from the IRS, persons who offer to help correct computer problems, or one of the many other scams in the world today. Most of the criminals are from locations outside of the United States, yet the victims are right here in our community.

Armed Robbery - Circle K Service Station

Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving an Armed Robbery to the Circle K service station at 2641 W Monroe in Springfield shortly after midnight on June 6th. The clerk at the station was approached by a black male brandishing a knife who pushed him to the ground and demanded the contents of the cash drawer. The suspect was wearing a black heavy coat and winter hat, grey sweat pants, and a light scarf.

Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving a series of thefts from cash registers at retail businesses in the Springfield area which have taken place while the businesses are open during normal business hours. It’s uncertain how these thieves are accessing the cash registers however Crime Stoppers has obtained surveillance photos of the suspects committing the crimes. In the most recent incident on May 28th, over $3500 was stolen. Look at our website and see if you can identify the thieves -police have felony charges awaiting them.

Robbery - Robbery of Pizza Delivery Person

Crime Stoppers is looking for help in solving a robbery to a pizza delivery person which occurred at the 1800 block of South 8th Street on Friday May 20th at about 11 o’clock in the evening.

As the victim approached a residence with the pizza’s, she was punched in the face by a 6 foot tall black male with a bald head who was wearing a blue hoodie. After she fell to the ground, three other males approached the victim and struck her and kicked her several times before running away on foot.

Crime Stoppers wants to pay anyone who knows who committed this robbery a cash reward for the identification and arrest of the persons responsible for this cowardly crime, and we’re going to pay a lot more than the few bucks these two bit thieves got in the robbery.

Crime Stoppers is looking for help from the community in solving a series of burglaries to motor vehicles which occurred in the Sherman area during the early morning hours of May 10th. These vehicle break-ins are similar to other occurrences in and around the Springfield area in which unlocked parked vehicles were burglarized and various items were stolen.

Burglary - Family Dollar @ 921 W Jefferson in Springfield

Earlier this week at approximately 11 pm on Sunday May 8th, a group of 6 persons burglarized the Family Dollar store at 921 W Jefferson in Springfield. The group broke a glass entry door to the closed business to gain entry and quickly ransacked the business, stealing assorted items before exiting and leaving the area on foot in a northbound direction. This brazen group of individuals needs to be identified and prosecuted and we need your help.

Robbery on South Durkin Drive

Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the public to help solve an early morning robbery on April 30th to a person at the 200 block of South Durkin Drive in Springfield. The victim reported he was walking his dog, before dawn, when he was confronted by a black male subject 25-30 years of age who stood approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 225 pounds. After the suspect confronted the victim, an altercation occurred between the two and the victim received a non life threatening stab wound to the shoulder. A brown leather wallet was stolen in the robbery.

Crime Stoppers is attempting to help police identify the subjects involved in a burglary to the Farm and Home store on North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield during the early morning hours of April 23rd. The two subjects, whose images were captured on surveillance cameras, smashed display cases and stole several semi-automatic handguns and fled the area in an unknown direction. Look at the images of the thieves on the Crime Stopper website cashfortips.us and help us identify these criminals. If you are able to give any information about the subjects involved in this burglary and theft and it leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1000. We want these criminals and the stolen handguns off the street.

The burglaries occurred during daytime and evening hours and entry was most often been made through windows at the rear of the residences. In nearly all of the incidents, victims reported the loss of jewelry and small concealable items.
