This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect in reference to a burglary.  On April 17th, 2024, around 5:30 am officers responded to a burglar alarm at Anything Sales, 612 E North Grand.  It was discovered the building had been ransacked and several items including jewelry, watches and coins had been taken all totaling over $55,000.00.   There was also damage to the building that totaled over $20,000.00.  Video had captured the suspect outside which police need your help to identify.  Images of the suspect can be found on this website, cashfortips.us. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference an incident that occurred on May 15th, 2023 at Bank of Springfield located at 2600 Adlai Stevenson Dr. The incident resulted in felony theft, identify theft, fraud and forgery. The suspect, who appeared to be a female with dark hair and a medium build, entered the branch pretending to be a customer. The suspect then used the identity, and a possible fake ID, of an existing customer to make a withdraw of $10,000. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a shooting that occurred on May 18th, 2023 around 6:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Taylor Ave. in Springfield, IL. The suspect was described as a male having a beard with gray in it, short hair, 6’0, 130-140 pounds, and wearing all dark clothing. The victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries are being considered non-life threatening at this time. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a motor vehicle theft that occurred on May 11th, 2023 around 9:30 a.m. at Seven Brothers Grocery located at 1801 S 11th St. in Springfield, IL. The victim parked their car and entered the store. The suspect, who appeared to be a male wearing blue shoes, gray pants, a white shirt and a black hooded sweatshirt, proceeds to walk to the victim’s vehicle, get in and drive away westbound on Laurel. The vehicle was later recovered but the suspect has not been identified. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Chatham Police Department reference multiple catalytic convertor thefts that occurred between March 12th and April 27th resulting in $4,000 in thefts. 3 of the thefts occurred at Iron Gate Storage located on Mansion Rd. The other three incidents occurred in 100 block of S College, the 400 Block of E Chestnut and the 800 Block of N Park, all of which occurred in the driveway of the victims. In the last month, there have been multiple attempts to burglarize ATMs in different locations in Springfield which has resulted in not only felony criminal damages but also felony thefts of currency. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a residential burglary, theft and criminal damage that occurred in the 3400 block on E Carpenter around 6:15 p.m. on April 2nd. The home owner arrived home when they saw a white Chevrolet Malibu in their driveway. A male subject jumped the fence while the vehicle began to drive away. The driver of the vehicle stopped to allow the other male to get in and they left the area. $400 in damage and $400 in thefts occurred during the burglary. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reference an attempted theft and felony criminal damage that occurred on March 27th, 2023 just before 6:00 a.m. at Cabinetland located at 4340 Peoria Rd in Springfield, IL. A male suspect cut a catalytic convertor off of one of the box trucks causing $4,000 in damage. After the male removed the convertor, an employee arrived on scene at which point the suspect left the convertor and drove away in a dark color sedan. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department reference a burglary, theft and criminal damage that took place at 510 E Monroe St just after 6:00am. on March 1st, 2023. The suspects appeared to have forced entry into the building before taking an assortment of items including copper pipe, wire and aluminum stud beams. Over $5,000 in property was stolen and $500 in damage was done by the suspects before they fled the area on a 4 wheeler. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reference two felony criminal damage cases in Springfield. The first incident occurred on March 10th 2023 in the 3700 block of Camp Butler RD. The second incident occurred between March 14th and 15th at the CWLP sub station located at 3600 Ridgley RD. In both incidents, a large amount of fiber optic wire was damaged causing approximately $55,000 in damage collectively between both incidents. Fundraisers!

This week Crime Stoppers wants to make you aware of two upcoming fundraisers. The north end masters will be taking place Saturday April 8th from 12:00 p.m.-6:00p.m. The cost is $15 if you register early or $20 the day of. Crime Stoppers is also starting a queen of hearts drawing with the drawing being every Sunday at Weebles at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $1 each and you must be at least 21 to participate. Tickets will be available for purchase at multiple satellite locations.
